The Annandale Arms Hotel was built as a hotel in 1760. Originally called the Kings Arms, the hotel served the mail coaches and visitors that were coming from all over Europe in increasing number, to take the waters at the popular spa resort of Moffat.

Today the hotel has eleven en-suite rooms with a further seven with private facilities. Many have both shower and bath; all have telephones, tea and coffee making facilities, televisions and the usual hair drier etc.

This is a great hill walking area. Ideal if you have a dog, though it goes without saying that dogs must be kept under control, as there are sheep on most of the hills.
