With the towering presence of Thorpe Cloud as a backdrop and the rolling Thorpe Pastures to one side, your tranquility and relaxation is assured. Numerous footpaths and trails lie nearby with some passing through our grounds and the famous stepping stones on the river Dove, which divides Derbyshire and Staffordshire, are minutes away.
Venturing further afield brings you the contrasting, harsher tones of the Dark Peak with its more rugged features. The towns of Buxton, Ashbourne, Matlock and Bakewell lie nearby as do character filled villages like Ilam, Hartington and Eyam as well as Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. For thrill seekers nearby Alton Towers provides a great day out.
The hotel has 46 comfortable rooms which contain all modern amenities including modem points and clock radios. Our spacious, informal lounge areas allow you to sink into a sofa and plan your day out, talk with friends, enjoy forty winks or simply watch the flames in an open fire. You can also select from our vast selection of board games or treat yourself to afternoon tea or something a bit stronger. Dine in our a la carte restaurant or choose from our bar menu - both provide mouth watering food.
Other features include conference rooms, civil wedding license with function rooms and extensive gardens. More importantly we are happily blessed with staff who express themselves individually and regard no two guests the same which is rather fortunate as we welcome both pets and children, along with their well behaved owners. Our low key style is the perfect blend of the informal and attentive resulting in a relaxed atmosphere. This is almost entirely due to our staff who we claim are the friendliest in the White Peak.
